I have a fondness for ethnic food. I love Thai, sushi, Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese- you name it, I want it. I love the spicy and exotic flavors! I especially love getting take-out. It reminds me of when I was working like a crazy person in restaurant kitchens and would often only get 1 solid day…
Fall Frenzy
Well I’m just plain exhausted. Today is my first day off in 2 weeks! I suppose I can’t complain because I was in beautiful California for some of that time! Anyhow the reason I’ve been so busy is because a couple of months ago I was asked to plan and execute a menu for a…
Hot & Cold
HOT – Creamy Tomato Basil I really enjoy making soups. I enjoy eating them even more. Lately there have been a lot of requests for soups around here and I don’t mind it at all. My favorite is probably tomato, with grilled cheese or a tuna melt. I mean does it get any better than that?…
Football & Gumbo
WELL, I’m not sure if you’re aware, but it’s football season again! I have been a fan since I can remember, but it was always college football. GO BIG RED!! Since moving to New Orleans, I have become a Saints fan as well, which I suppose is no surprise if you’ve spent any time down there

Menus
Mid-Summer Progress Report: I am so busy! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I accepted my first personal chef job. Now, after almost 2 months, I can say it’s challenging at times, yet very rewarding. I am learning so much! I would say the best and worst part of my job is that I am in in charge of menu planning. Of course each family member has their likes and dislikes, but they also give me A TON of liberties when it comes to the ingredients. They want to see what I can do, and so they really don’t steer me in any particular direction unless we are planning for a special occasion….or they decide they want lobster.
NOLA Love
I am away from New Orleans for the summer, but the city is still very much on my mind. I definitely miss it. I visited a few restaurants before I left for Martha’s Vineyard and I am just now finding the time to write about them!
